The Time To Time Authenticity Guarantee

Every timepiece sold by Time To Time Inc. is guaranteed authentic. This is not a claim — it's a written commitment, unlimited in time, backed by a full refund of the purchase price.

If, at any point after your purchase, a Rolex Service Center, an authorized manufacturer service center, or an equivalent professional appraiser determines that a watch we sold you is not genuine, we will refund your full original purchase price. No time limit. No fine print. No arbitration.

How We Get It Right

Every piece that enters our inventory goes through a structured authentication process before it is listed for sale:

  1. Provenance review. We trace the origin of every watch — where it came from, who owned it, what documentation accompanies it. Pieces without a clear chain of custody are declined.
  2. Physical inspection. Case, dial, hands, bracelet, movement, and caseback are examined by hand under loupe magnification. Reference numbers, serial numbers, and hallmarks are cross-checked against manufacturer specifications and dealer archives.
  3. Movement verification. The caseback is opened and the movement is verified against the reference. Movement serial numbers, caliber, finishing, and wheel-train details are compared to factory records.
  4. Cross-reference against dealer archives. We maintain reference libraries covering Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and other major houses spanning decades of production. Every piece is cross-checked against period-correct specifications.
  5. Component analysis on vintage pieces. For vintage watches, we assess whether every visible component (dial, hands, bezel, crown, crystal, bracelet) is period-correct and original to the piece, or if any parts are service replacements or later additions. Non-original components are disclosed in the listing.

What "Authentic" Means to Us

"Authentic" doesn't just mean the watch bears the correct brand name. It means:

  • The movement, case, dial, hands, and bracelet were produced by the manufacturer.
  • All reference and serial numbers correspond to factory records.
  • Any non-original components (service dials, service hands, replacement bracelets) are explicitly disclosed in the listing description.
  • The piece is not a modified, "franken", or aftermarket-parts assembly presented as original.

Third-Party Verification

We encourage buyers to independently verify any piece they purchase. If you want to send your watch to a Rolex Service Center, manufacturer authorized dealer, or a professional appraiser for verification, we support that entirely. If verification comes back showing anything different from what we described in the listing, contact us with documentation and we will make it right.

Why This Matters

The pre-owned luxury watch market has serious authenticity challenges: super-clones, service dials sold as originals, fake papers, altered serials. A dealer who won't stand behind their authentication is not a dealer worth buying from. Our unlimited-time, full-refund authenticity guarantee exists because we believe buyers of five- and six-figure watches deserve absolute certainty about what they're getting.
